Fuku-chan's MMA fight
Our professional MMA fighter, Fuku-chan has a fight coming up soon.
He is probably the biggest guys in dojo, over 100 KG with such strong physique. On a surface, he looks rather stoic. On the contrary, he is one of the most friendly guys who loves joking around once you start talking to him. He can tell you pretty much anything about martial arts. He knows in and out of Japanese and martial arts world because he's been in this field for so long. He's done Judo since he was in elementary school; scouted from many famous high schools, then switched to MMA, with many scouter's regrets. Nowadays, he works full time; practice or watching fights the rest of the time. You can count on seeing him at most major MMA/kickboxing fights.
As much as he enjoys doing what he does, he regrets that there aren't too many MMA fighters at his weight level that he can fight with. He told me it's not easy being a professional MMA fighter because there isn't enough funding for Japanese MMA compared to for example, Judo.
Nevertheless, he started gearing up his practice already and it will be a great fight. Many people from dojo will be going to Differ Ariake to support him. Do let us know if you'd like to join us.

He will be fighting in a "Pancrase 2010 Passion Tour" @ Differ Ariake (near Kokusai-tenjijo St.) around 3 pm.
