Karaoke Night
Our first official HKK (Hide's Kick Karaoke) night was a huge success; Jerry, Ken and Tatane from our expat group have attended last Sunday night. About 12 people attended, long long day for most of us. Some people fought in Ju-jitsu tournament earlier, cheering for them or cheering for an amateur kickboxing fight. I started my day around 7 to go along with Nakaharasan for his kickboxing match. Although he didn't win, he fought a good fight. He is in a feather weight, but I know for sure that he is one of the strongest (and sneakiest!) in our practice sparring. For some reason, he has not been able to be himself on rings in the last few fights. This time, he was almost himself, not backing up, kept attacking at close range. He has a beautiful jabs and low kicks, which hurt the opponent pretty bad, but not enough. It was 2 to 0.
Going back to Karaoke night ---
We were all at awe when Jerry sang some Enka, Japanese folk songs so perfectly. He was like a different person, totally stole a spotlight of the night. Ken and Tatane shared their beautiful voices along with dancing that night.
What probably amazed the Karaoke store the most was how much we drank! There was no stopping in calling from our room for beers and cocktails. We can enjoy each others' company, singing & dancing and drinking! What a special night.
Our next event is on the 25th, "Korean food night" which will be held in Shin-okubo after our practice around 8pm. There might be another night of Karaoke ;) Let me know if you'd like to join us.
Also, there will be a Metropolitan party on the night of 24th @ Nishi-azabu which is coordinated by our friend, Karl. Join us there as well.
